Wide plank wooden floors making a comeback.

Wide plank hardwood wooden floors were the standard layout if we go back a couple of hundred years. Wide plank wooden floors were easy to make they were more convenient as the planks were wide and the surface area that they covered was bigger than what we use today, thus making them easy to lay out on the floor and they took a much lesser time in fitting.

This practice changed in the modern era because of the demand for a different approach as manufacturers and the fitting crews were now using power tools therefore making the age old practice of using wider planks a rarity.
Rarity for sure but rare as an exotic wine! And Perfect for those who are looking for something other than the commonly used normal sized mainstream floor board. Wooden floors with wider planks are making a comeback into the modern era to break the overuse and monopoly of the normal planks in the flooring industry, not only do they give your home/room a unique old and exquisite look they can be manufactured with almost any kind of wood therefore providing you with multiple color and shade options to choose from and on top of that people love to match their grain and texture with their furniture & walls.
These days’ Wooden Floors with wider planks are actually, very popular with people who are looking to break off from the current trend of flooring by doing something unique, something different, something that is not too common and something that can make their room/home stand out.

Their (Wide plank’s) most common application that I have seen in wooden floors is their installation in bedrooms and kitchen, people love to make these rooms stand out from the rest of the house and they do it by installing a wider plank based floor while matching its color and wood with the furniture they have in those rooms. So, if you have an all wooden designer bed, a wooden table or a cupboard to match with your wide planked floor it’ll make an excellent combination adding to the aesthetics of your room/house.

In the end it is a personal choice for most people; some like the old style of wider planked wooden floors whereas others go with the mainstream using standard sized wooden planks however in application and use they are all pretty much the same and it’s all down to the aesthetic look and feel of the floor board based on the furniture it will be matched with in the house.
